WOW Trojan disabled and modified Malwarebytes

Recommended Posts

While I was running an update on World of Warcraft I think a trojan activated. Malwarebytes tried to send a popup message, but the message was removed, then Malwarebytes said a new database was available (so I clicked yes to install, but now I think the message was fake) and Malwarebytes shut down. Later I noticed the Malwarebytes database had been written over and some new files had been added to the Malwarebytes program folder, including zlib.dll . The trojan also must have done something to my firewall because I got a new message that a device (my Roku player) had been discovered (it has been on the network a while).

I reinstalled Malwarebytes according to the instructions on this forum and ran it, it didn't find anything wrong. Nor did my McAfee AntiVirus. I have no idea what this trojan did; the only other thing I noticed was it placed the WOW window partially off the edges of the monitor screen (like it thought I had 2 monitors). And when I restarted my computer it gave me some generic system errors that haven't reappeared on reboot.

Has anyone heard of anything similar? Or how to get rid of it?

Thanks
