lordpake Posted October 24, 2008 ID:32098 Share Posted October 24, 2008 Built-in updater worked fine here. One question though, it seems the test protection button is now gone? I can only see purchase/register buttons in Protection tab.
deniser Posted October 24, 2008 ID:32102 Share Posted October 24, 2008 @rubberduckyWhen installed the tray icon is there and everything is ok until reboot. That is where the problems start. On reboot I get error code 2. Then when I check the protection module is disabled. I enable it but get error code 1703. The protection module says it is enabled but no icon in the system tray. I have double checked system tray properties so in theory the icon should be in the system tray.
deniser Posted October 24, 2008 ID:32103 Share Posted October 24, 2008 @rubberduckyI forgot to say in previous post I am running Vista Home premium sp1 all is up to date. Version 1.28 worked like a dream. These pronlems started with 1.29 and even with a clean install of 1.30 I am getting exactly the same errors. Geoffo Posted October 25, 2008 ID:32226 Share Posted October 25, 2008 I have Online Armor - asked to allow several changes to files (I should have set OA to learn mode first). Also Windows Defender asked me to send information on the following:-c:\program files\Malwarebytes\mbambgui.exec:\windows\system32\drivers\MBAMSwissArmy.sysI was not requested to reboot. All seems okGeoff
Swandog46 Posted October 25, 2008 ID:32260 Share Posted October 25, 2008 Geoffo, mbamgui.exe is the new protection module controller. MBAMSwissArmy.sys is part of the scanning engine. They are both legitimate, have no fear.
