Black screen after running Malwarebytes

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

Last night I was having strange computer behavior and triedto run an Avira antirvirus that I had installed on the recommendations of someone on this forum. avira couldnt run, my outlook seemed to stop. So I ran Malwarebytes which began but soon had a warning: ERROR: The application module: c:\program fileavirantivirus Dsktop\c:cw-r.ib.dll can not be found and may be destroyed. The file acwvs.exe (or something like that) could not be started.

When I woke this morning, the malwarebytes scan screen was replaced by a black screen and the computer seemed to be in standby. I pushed the restrart button gentely and moved the cursor which usually brings the computer back to life, but i had to do that 3 times and then I got two small white rimmed text boxes - one with my name and one with a cursor ready to accept a password. then after a while, a windows labelled box appeared around the two white trimmed boxes and the text was impling that I should enter my passwrod to unlock the computer.

What should I do? What has happened to my computer?

Richard

Hi,

Are you able to run these tools?

Please download DDS and save it to your desktop.

  • Disable any script blocking protection.
  • Double click dds.com to run the tool..
  • When done, DDS will open two logs (DDS.txt and Attach.txt).
  • Save both reports to your desktop.

Please include the contents of DDS.txt in your next reply.

Please download Rootkit Unhooker and save it to your Desktop

  • Double-click on RKUnhookerLE to run it
  • Click the Report tab, then click Scan
  • Check Drivers, Stealth Code and uncheck the rest
  • Click OK
  • Wait until it's finished and then go to File > Save Report
  • Save the report to your Desktop

Copy the entire contents of the report and paste it in a reply here.

Note - you may get this warning it is ok, just ignore: "Rootkit Unhooker has detected a parasite inside itself!

It is recommended to remove parasite, okay?"
