Infected with malware - search engine redirect

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Please help, I've got some malware somewhere and I cannot find where the problem is.

When I do a Google search, I frequently (but not always) get redirected to another site. Sometimes it's a shopping site, sometimes just a different search engine.

I haven't noticed any other problems such as mail worms or accounts being hijacked.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.

Steps I have taken:

Installed Spybot S&D, Malwarebytes anti-malware, and HijackThis

Full scans on each did find some problems which were successfully removed, but the redirect problem is still there.

Finally I did a system restore to a previous date that I was sure it was OK. The problem remains.

Can someone please advise me on the next steps.

Shall I post a HijackThis log?

Many thanks,
