Nothing but background image loading on startup

Hi all,

I've returned home from work to my windows xp sp2 system not loading.

Nothing but background image loading on startup. The aspect ratio is too large as well. All I can do is access the desktop display properties as I can't access task manager either.

Any suggestions gratefully received. Let me know if any more details would help.

For a start you should have SP3 loaded as support for SP2 ended about 6 months ago - You may have missed important updates -

Right click on any blank area of the screen and you should be able to reset the size of resolution etc -
