Malwarebytes freezes

Recommended Posts

When doing a Quick Scan, Malwarebytes freezes at the same file everytime (napdsnap.dll) and refuses to move forwards even after half an hour.

I have to close the program using Task Manager.

This has happened thrice, even after re-installing the program.

Of course, I have updated the database each time.

I have Vista Home Premium and Norton Internet Security 2010, with 4GB RAM.

Any suggestions

Thank you,

Nitin Pandey

Greetings :)

Please do the following to see if it corrects the problem:

  • Open Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and click on the Settings tab and select Scanner Settings
  • Uncheck Enable advanced heuristics engine. (Heuristics.Shuriken)
  • Try another Quick Scan to see if it now works correctly

If it does work then this is a known issue and will be fixed in our next release which is currently available as a public beta.

If you would like to test the beta please refer to this post.
