Ran Malwarebytes now ps2 keyboard & mouse not working

Recommended Posts

I had just about cleaned this computer (root kit and many other viruses and malware) and finished off with a final run of malwarebytes. I was suprised to find it had found some additional issues but told it to correct the problems. On reboot my ps2 mouse and keyboard do not work. I have no logs that I saved because I expected I was out of the woods and in the clear when this happened. I am looking for a general idea of where to start. Without keyboard and mouse I am helpless. I tried safe mode but the result was the same, no mouse controll nor keyboard use.

OS is WinXp Media Center Edition running SP3.

What could MalwareBytes have removed that caused my mouse and keyboad to stop working and how can i fix it?

I have the drive out and attached to another computer for an AV scan, etc.
