Excessive run time for Malwarebytes

Anyone have any thoughts as to why Malwarebytes would be running at a snail's pace? There is not an excessive amount of information in storage, but I have been forced to run in normal mode as the advanced boot options menu would not open for me to get to safe mode. I'm only showing 18 infected objects out of around 450,000 but it took us almost 30 hours to get there. This machine has been severely neglected it would appear, and for some time. Maybe this is to be expected given the circumstances, I just thought I would double check. Any Thoughts?

Hello and :D

Scan times can very from computer to computer, it all depends on how much ram you have, how fast your computer is, and how many files are scanned.

All that is really needed is a quick scan provided you are using the latest version of Malwarebytes which is v1.46 with Database version 5102.

It also could have taken such a long time due to temp files, and also due to the infections that were found.

Hi -

If you do (did) have 18 infected items they could be any type of infection - Were they Rogue a/V's , Worms , Backdoor infections , or others -

Our experts can help you if the items were not fully removed and parts of them may still exist -

If you are clean a Quick Scan should take no longer than about 10 to 15 mins , a Full scan can take 45 mins to 1 1/2 hours -

Remaining infections are one reason for slow scans - Please list your Operating system (XP Vista Win7) or follow these directions below -

Please print out, read and follow What do I do now? , skipping any steps you are unable to complete.
