Message of thanks

I was unwittingly infected by Braviax.

After running McAfee, some features were disabled that couldn't be remedied, I also downloaded S&D which didn't open or scan. Even Advanced Windows Care didn't take care of Bravia.

Googling for fixes I came across your link, downloaded your program and it worked first time, identifying 27 infected files. I've since done a full system scan that identified two more.

I'll certainly be using your program and will recommend it to friends to install

I'm glad I came across it.

Many thanks.

Yay!! Glad we could help. Be sure to add some prevention software to that machine.

Hi Jean in Montana,

Can you suggest good prevention software please.

I thought the preventative measures I take are quite robust; apparantly not!

Grateful for your comment and help.

I would be delighted to give you my list of recommended programs.

All recommended programs are free and easy on system resources. You should install them as part of your protection arsenal.

A firewall and antivirus are also essential. The Windows firewall in XP and Vista is not sufficient.

Preform Windows Updates monthly on the second Tuesday or use automatic updates, and use your scanners weekly at the least. Always update before you scan.

Keep other software known for vulnerabilities updated also. Use the Secunia Inspector free scan to identify risks in outdated versions.

Avira Antivir

Spybot Search & Destroy Be sure to use the immunize feature.

SpywareBlaster from Javacool Software

WinPatrol by BillPStudios

SiteHound by FireTrust

The windows firewall is not sufficient to protect. It doesn't monitor outgoing traffic and this is a must. I use and recommend Online Armor Free

Also the full protection of MBAM is offered at a very low price For life in my signature.

You will also need at least one other scanning program Asquared or SuperAntiSpyware are good and there are several other excellent programs with free and paid versions. Read the overviews of what each program below does so you have an understanding of their importance and how to use.

I didnt want to start a new thread, and this one seemed fitting. I also want to thank malwarebytes for saving my computer! I believe I also had the braviax thing, along with vundo and zlob (not very good with virus lingo, but thats what was coming up). Stupid symantec wet the bed at first sight, and everything else just missed things that caused it to come right back up when rebooted. Almost out of hope, I found this program and figured what the heck, lets try once more. This program found that SOB, killed it and its buddies, and even reset all the windows options that had been corrupted! This is truly a superior program, and im gonna tell anyone with spyware problems to go here.

Thanks for a great product!

OMG PMSL We may have to use this as a promo line. LOL Symantec actually uses MBAM on it's own help forums, because they don't remove stuff.

@ Kenny, well isn't that speshal? They use us but also flag it as malware. Classic idiocy.
I never claimed they were "Rocket Scientists" but they do have their share of problems and were infested by the antivirus2008 gang using a vBulletin
