Well I know mine is not infected (my hash may be different as I have a paid version) and my MD5 hash is:

C:\Program Files\WinRAR\Default.SFX

F5E66B23AA135ABB41E3EE8DA4CF8E52

If you don't have an MD5 checker you can get one here: GUImd5

There are some on SourceForge as well if you like.

Hi AdvancedSetup

I don't know how to read the results from this tool but this is the MD5 it gave me after testing the Default.SFX file

Maybe you could advise?

Best Regards,

Portmanteau

EDIT: Mine is not a paid ver:

I can't check right now but will get back to you later today.

I will look at one of the free versions on a system and it should be the same value you have if the versions are the same.

What version of WinRAR are you running. Exact version number please.

Yes, this has to be a False Positive.

I just installed the 3.70 trial version on a new system and did the MD5 check and mine matches yours.

9DEA17EB58085C440F280E53D34683FE

I will report this as a FP

Thanks

Hi there. Well I was hoping for an update yesterday, but it seems the lead developer is still out of town. I know some of the other developers have made updates but they may not have gotten or read this post since it was sent to the main dev person.

For now you can place it on the IGNORE list and then when he gets back and updates it you can remove it from the Ignore list.

Sorry for the delay.
