DrWatson debugger stops scan

Recommended Posts

I am using Windows XP Pro SP3. Mozilla latest version; Malwarebytes version 1.46 up to date.

Can't open the Malwarebytes screen (scan, update, protection, etc.) unless I unpin Malwarebytes from the start menu. Then I can see it and I can update (which I have made automatic from today). When I try to scan, the program will scan up to 1800 or so files and then a message pops up saying that Dr Watson debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close. After which Malwarebytes either gives me the same message or simply freezes..

If I click on the icon on the bottom of the computer or the file name of Malwarebytes in the program list, I get a message stating that Malwarebytes is already running. (This is why I needed to unpin the program from the start menu).

I guess I want to know if I am still getting the full protection of Malwarebytes even though I cannot scan. The program is up to date... So I hope it is stopping any thing that tries to sneak on while it is working. I do get notification from time to time that it has blocked a site that is dangerous.

Do I need to do anything? Or just take it easy??

Hi -

The program will still be running in the background , from what you describe , although Dr Watson may also be debugging something else -

Please reboot again and see if the icons return - There seems to be no major problem -

Thank You -
