Receiving RunTime Error 0 After Installing NIS2011

Recommended Posts

Just installed Norton Internet Security 2011 and find now that Malwarebytes free version will not work, gives me a run time error 0 notification.

Decided to uninstall and re-install using XP Add/Delete but receiving the same message when I try to uninstall.

Have done several full scans using Norton Internet Security 2011 and they come up clean.

Even tried Revo Uninstaller but nothing worked, can't use and can't uninstall.

Otherwise computer working normal.

Sounds like I need help....HELP.

Thank You.

Hi orchidman16 and Welcome -

Please follow these directions if you have the Norton Add-On Pac (from Symantic/Norton advisors) -

If you use
Norton Internet Security
, and you have the
Add-On Pack
installed, then please note that the

Add-On Pack
will block the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware update process. Symantec has discontinued support for the Add-On Pack, and they have asked us to recommend to their customers that they uninstall the
Add-On Pack
and replace it with
. Since Norton Online Family is compatible with the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware update process, replacing the Add-On Pack with it will solve any Norton Internet Security related update issues.

Let us know if this fixes it - If you still have a problem , please post back -

Also please add if it is Malwarebytes or Norton that you are trying to remove (as we can help there also) -

Thank You -

Appreciate your trying to be of help.

Do not know whether I have add-on pack. No idea what add-on pack is. Bought NIS2011 yesterday and installed. Malawarebytes was operating before installation of NIS2010, scans by NIS2011 show no infection so I assume that NIS2011 is blocking MBAM from operating. Each time I try to use MBAM I am advised there is a "run time error 0". I cannot even remove MBAM because when I use Win XP add/remove I receive the very same error message.

I wold like to be able to use MBAM. If not I would like to know how to remove.

Thank you
