IE Update causes Malwarebytes to stop IE loading

Following windows (W7) update tonight I was unable to load Internet Explorer 8, Malwarebytes ip protection reported IP 80.87.199.17 had been blocked and prevented IE from loading. Firefox loaded normally.

To resolve the problem I uninstalled 'Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7 (KB2360131)' which was listed as an Important Update, rebooted system and IE loaded normally, and flagged update as hidden in Windows Update.

Hope this helps anyone with the same problem. :(

This is a valid update by Microsoft, you can read about it RIGHT HERE.

This security update resolves seven privately reported vulnerabilities and three publicly disclosed vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer.

If Malwarebytes ip protection reports blocks to IP 80.87.199.17, when you are using IE it is possible that you may have some rootkit or infection on your system.

What is your version of Malwarebytes and what definition do you have? (latest version is 1.46 with database 4811)

Did you run a quick scan for infections? What were your results?

Hi, I ran a full scan with Malwarebytes 1.46 Db 4805 and a full scan with ESET Smart Security 4.2.40.0 DB 5525, neither scans found any infections

I'll re-run the scans with todays updates

Last scan log:
