Hi,

There are lots of programs that will kill a process, is there a program that will prevent Malwarebytes from closing? A lot of the new viruses either prevent security applications from running or close them when they scan the virus. It would be helpful to have a utility to keep that from happening.

Hi,

There are a couple of things you could try, for example:

NOTE: mbam.exe is normally located in C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

1. Rename mbam.exe to something random (e.g., 234802348.exe or file.exe), and then try running the renamed mbam.exe.

2. Rename mbam.exe to a system file (e.g., iexplore.exe, explorer.exe or svchost.exe), and then try running the renamed mbam.exe.

3. Rename mbam.exe to mbam.com , and then try running mbam.com.

4. Try running mbam.exe in Safe Mode.

5. Use Rkill to terminate some known malicious processes, before you try to run mbam.exe.

6. Use OTH to terminate all processes, before you try to run mbam.exe.

Or you can use another program to remove the infection that's blocking MBAM. :welcome:

Which step works depends on the blocking method of the infection. Sometimes you'll have to combine multiple steps.

Does this answer your question?
