Not identifying virus`

Recommended Posts

I'm on my sister's laptop, a brand new Toshiba with windows 7 and Norton security.

She has the windows defence virus, and I followed all the steps to remove it. As I ran mbam I watched it scan and saw windows defence not being identified as a problem. It`s not finding any virus`. I don`t know if it was because it won`t update (tried those steps, it did not work)`. I`ve downloaded and redownloaded mbam, ran full scans that lasted almost a half an hour and nothing is being found. My copy of mbam works on my desktop computer, so I don`t know if it`s the laptop or the copy i downloaded. Norton is blocking some trojan from getting in but I`d really like to get rid of the main problem.

It's a 64 bit, Norton is the only one active, windows defender and windows firewall are turned off. I downloaded the newest available mbam and the Norton is gone in 5 days. I don't have norton on my computer so I don't know how to change it.

I watch the scan go through the virus, it's not picking anything up though. The first time I ran it I thought I got rid of it but the windows defence keeps popping up.
