Malware Bytes start scanning.... but stops after 3 seconds.

Hello!

Since recently, my computer seems to be slower and unable to run a large proportion of my programs (for some reason, even my firewall is forced to stay closed, which I know is -very- bad). I was lucky enough to be able to install Malwarebytes, and then attempted to run a Quick Scan, only for Malwarebytes to freeze after 3 seconds each time. I'm certain that at this point, I will most likely simply have to reformat my computer, but I'd like to get a couple suggestions first if possible. Thanks in advance!
