Will Windows UAC Block my protection Module?

I just bought the full version of Malware Bytes.

Thing is, everytime I go for a scan, I have to hit the allow button to allow the program to run.

So, that got me wondering if my Protection Module is giving me real time protection, OR, is my User Account Control settings blocking the real time protection?

You may want to look at How to Use the New Scheduler and configure using Administrative account, once set it will work in LUA without UAC

Its like Haider has said, make sure you get your Scheduler configured correctly for automatic updates and scans.

When the scheduled update runs it will run just fine without being prompted by UAC.

When you run a manual scan, it will prompt you by UAC, this is by design and it is working correctly.

You can test your IP Protection/Web Blocker by going to a site that resides on Malwarebytes' own servers and is perfectly safe. The test address is iptest.malwarebytes.org.

ow, does anyone know if the Real-Time protection of Malware Bytes is being blocked by my User Account Controls settings? I hate to drop them if so.

No the UAC is not blocking your real time protection.

If you see the Malwarebytes logo in your system trey it is running as designed.

The realtime protection uses a Service to run, Services do not go through UAC to run with elevated privileges. The scanner (mbam.exe) is a normal executable, so when it is started to do a scan, it does go through UAC .
