Have no audio

Recommended Posts

Hi! A couple weeks ago I had a virus, but my computer scans are clean now. However, last week, I lost all audio. When clicked the audio icon, I got the error "There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Add Hardware." I go through the Add Hardware Wizard, click that I've already added the hardware, and choose SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec. It says "The device is working properly." According to Device Manager, the device is working properly. When I go to start, run, services.msc, and try to start Windows Audio, I get "Could not start the Windows Audio service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

Can anyone advise me on what to do?
