When I run malewaebytes in normal mode I get a BSOD.

I searched the forums and found a similar problem.

Topic http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=63973

I followed the instructions in Post http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...st&p=321823 to remove MBAM and re-install it.

Information from the MBAM about/update tabs free version 1.46 (4736)

OS Windows XP Pro SP3

After the reinstall I still get a BSOD. After it scans for 2 seconds the timer stops for a couple of seconds more and then the BSOD shows.

Thecnical Data:

STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x00000018, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xF7B19261)

iastor.sys Address F7B0A000 base at F7B0A000, datestamp 46D0C8C

MBAM runs in safe mode and does not find anything.

Please help me to find and correct the problem with my PC.

The Norton item is apparently part of Norton System Works 2006. There is no seperate remove for the worm item and Norton Ghost (also part of the product) is being used for backup.

There are no other problems that I can find and MBAM was working fine last April whtever version was valid then. The problem would appear to be with MBAM. Is there anyway to find what is causing the conflict?

Try this quick fix first - It may clear out any old router backlog -

  • 1. Router Reset: You must reset the router to its default configuration. This can be done by inserting something tiny like a paper clip end or pencil tip into a small hole labeled "reset" located on the back of the router. Press and hold down the small button inside until the lights on the front of the router blink off and then on again (usually about 10 seconds).
    2. Reset the IP/DNS settings of your interent connection:
Download this Microsoft Item and follow its directions
3. Flush the DNS cache:
Click the Start logo in the bottom left corner of the screen
Click on Run or Windows Key + R
In the command window copy/paste the following:
ipconfig /flushdns

Then hit enter.
Exit the command window.
4. Try to use MBAM now with a clean router -
