After I removed the HK_Local_Machine\system\currentcontrolset|services\tcpip\parameters\nameserver key, with the help of malwarebytes. Now I can't use the static ip entry feature nor can I get on the internet.

I have

Tried to add the nameserver entry manually in the registry, didn't work

Tried to restore from the malwarebytes quarantine folder, the key entry, and remove the erroneous DNS entries, didn't work

I am at a loss!

The malware culprit was trojan.dnschanger and trojan.dropper

Yes, great idea, I have tried the netsh with series of different commands and no effect. When I try and add an ip number in, by going through the local adapter properties, I can enter the numbers in ok, but after rebooting they are not there anymore. You are on the right track, maybe I'm not using the right switch for the netsh command.
