Crash During Scan

Hi,

So I was having the "mbam error load database (0,5)" and thought I could just uninstall and reinstall. And that worked fine, but now when I go to actually run a scan, malwarebytes crashes a few seconds in. So, if anyone could help me out here, it'd be very appreciated.

Please update definitions (current 4665) and do one more attempt of scanning with (Heuristics Shuriken Disabled)

1. Click on Settings
   
2. Click on Scanner Settings
   
3. Uncheck Enable advanced heuristics engine (Heuristics Shuriken)
   

Give it a shot and let us know please by using button! Please also list your OS, installed security product(s) including firewall and system locale

Well, it ran for 2 minutes this time before crashing.

I'm running Windows XP professional (64 bit), malwarebytes is my only security product, I have Window's Firewall, but its off. My system locale is in Japanese.

Ah, well thanks for responding at least, your advice on the heuristics at least let the scan run a bit more.

Do you think that you may be infected? What version of Malwarebytes did you install, and did you update it?

You really need to have Anti-virus installed on this computer as well, Malwarebytes alone will not protect you, as Malwarebytes is NOT an Anti-Virus Program.

Well, I installed, I think it was 1.63 (whichever version the malewarebytes site offers), then updated it to database version 4665. I had previously installed AVG, but because it wouldn't allow me to update my browser, and I couldn't find how to turn it off, I just uninstalled it. When I had AVG I scanned and found nothing, so I don't think I'm infected. As soon as I can get malwarebytes working again, I'll probably download Avast.

well, I'll be darned, I had two trojans and a worm (js:prontexi-by, js:treffuc-c, and Html:iframe-Inf). Avast got them though. However, after that, I ran the scan in malwarebytes, and it made it about 15 minutes before crashing...

I showed my inability with 64-bit OS though, but jumping onboard again, since it's confirmed that your system is infected. At times MBAM alone will not be able to completely eradicate these nastiest leaving behind remnants that require special tools and experts knowledge
