Rootkit.Bubnix - keeps coming back like Freddy Krueger

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have seen other recent posts here and now I am experiencing the same issue. There is a file identified as rootkit.bubnix by Malwarebytes. The file is:

c:\windows\system32\drivers\olhkqz.sys

Malwarebytes tries to remove it on reboot but can't. So after advise on the best way to achieve this. Also what does it actually do? I haven't seen any real issues apparent. Finally how does malware such as this appear. I have spyware and virus checkers active.

Thanks in advance

Al
