something is corrupted?

Recommended Posts

Hi IDK.:)

I would recommend uninstalling flash with their removal tool.

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

Can't seem to find one for java, but you can download revo uninstaller and use the advanced option to remove all traces.:)

First

Are you downloading Flash through IE

Second

Do you have Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX in control Panel(Normally available through Windows UP-dates)

Use JavaRa to clean out old versions of Java HERE

Then look for the following Java folders and if found delete them:

C:\Program Files\Java

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Java

C:\Windows\Sun

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Java

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sun\Java

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Java

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Sun\Java

Then install new Java

well it turns out, before this started to happen, i was installing IE9 beta. so it was saying u have to install some updates, but i didnt want to. i deleted the setup and this and this started to happen. Now, i decided to restart my pc, and what do u know, IE9 installed the updates during the setup! so when i see my desktop again, it replaced IE8. i still wanted to use IE8, so i guess it just replaced it... so is there a way to have IE9 and IE8 at the same time? and if not, i want IE8 back. so do i just reinstall IE8 over 9 again? or do i unisntall IE9 first? so adobe or java was not my problem. good thing i didnt remove them!

Well it sounds pretty straight-forward. You should probably uninstall IE9 first, reboot, and then see if IE8 is back.

If not, see what version of IE you have after uninstalling the IE9 beta.

Edit:

Direct download links for Flash may be found for;

Internet Explorer

All other browsers

And I agree with Buttons, you should first use the uninstaller from Adobe :) No need to uninstall from Programs; just use the uninstaller :)

What Operating System do you have???

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Explorer_7

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Explorer_8

From within the interface of the IE that you currently have, choose "Help" then "About Internet Explorer".

Or under Programs or All Programs (this being on the start menu) find IE and right-click and then Properties. (This method may or may not show you what version of IE you have).

I think it's weird that it doesn't show under Programs... hmmm. (But I'm sure they've done it for a reason).

Right-clicking under all programs (via start menu) does NOT show a program version for me, unfortunately.

Is IE showing under all programs at all?

This link from Microsoft told me information that I already gave you:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows...rer-youre-using

So basically is IE showing in All Programs??

Think I found out how :)

(Just click "Click here to view or hide detailed information" under "Steps for Windows 7")

This second link was written for Vista, but might be the same in 7 (only try this if the first link doesn't work):

Windows 7 ultimate

32bit

Well for some reason, Youtube videos and other videos dont play on IE. I go on firefox and it works. And those videos on sites dont play, only some weird download.... i think adobe or java is corrupted some how, which is making the videos not paly. what should i do?

I am using several Web Browser, I had to install a seperate Flash for IE as it does not utilize the flash as effective as other browsers and therefor needed me to re-install flash.

I have also had problems with Adobe 10.1. If you go to the Adobe forum site for Flashplayer you will see that it is very buggy and many people are having problems with it. You should also be able to get help from that site. It seems that one of the main problems is that if the new Adobe 10.1 downloads to one of your browsers it doesn't automatically download to all your computers browsers (assuming that you have more than one browser) and without running on all of them, especially IE, then it will not play videos properly, if at all. However this is only one of its many faults.
