Hidserv.exe - No Disk error after Windows update

Recommended Posts

I just allowed Windows 7 to restart itself after an update. Upon startup I started getting 4 error messages in a row, which would keep coming back over and over and over again... something along the lines of:

Hidserv.exe - No Disk

There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into driv\Device\harddisk3\DR3

Hidserv.exe - No Disk

There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into driv\Device\harddisk4\DR4

Hidserv.exe - No Disk

There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into driv\Device\harddisk5\DR5

Hidserv.exe - No Disk

There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into driv\Device\harddisk6\DR6

In the task manager I saw this process and shut it down. The errors went away. Under "Description" in the task manager it said Malwarebytes. So I also removed it from the startup in msconfig.

Anyone know what exactly happened?
