Windows has encountered critical error and will restart

Upon starting in either normal mode or safe with networking, i get the error message:

Windows has encountered a critical error and will restart in one minute.

I do not get this message when starting in safe mode (without networking). I have tried to run Malwarebytes (quick scan found one Trojan and after removing that, full scan found nothing). I tried to do a system restore, but it did not complete. Vista 32.

Please help!!
