Newb - forum question

howdy, either too tired or it's under my nose and can't see it....

how do I save sent PM's? .... do I have to have a post count or sumpin?

Hey! go to Compose New Message

you can test one to me if you want, scroll down - just before you send it it should say" save to sent folder" see if it works....

Also to any others who are not sure about this or who have also asked -

If you place your mouse tip on the name of a member a Drop Down arrow appears - Click on the arrow -

You are given several options these include "Send Message" - If you select that one you can send a PM to that member - Easy -

In the message area you must have a name to send to (top item) subject matter {can just be titled Hello or similar} (second item) and them you can add items in the content in the box below , just like you would in a normal email - These items are not viewed by the forum board and therefore are Private Messages between you and the person that you are sending to - Again just like an Email -

That's funny!! :) You guys should know better. I will not send PM to you. I will warn members. Don't think you can be funny and use PM's to start trouble because you will get into trouble. All though they are private, they can be monitored if management chooses to do do. Also report any PM's that you think are malicious. I'm new here ,but I'm on other forums. Be courteous and enjoy this great forum. There are a lot of smart people on this forum.

The "Private" in Private messages is supposed to be absolute and even admin do not normally have access to them. Any board that was found to violate this feature would be quickly in trouble.

I administrate two different kinds of board and have never seen a function to read or intercept PMs, unless admn hack their own board it will not happen.

Hi goldhound. Except my apologies. I was told on another forum that PM's could be monitored, but it would be a rare occasion if they were. Your post said that even admin do not normally have access to them, which means they could but probably won't unless they have a reasonable cause to do so. I think that my PM's were monitored on another forum, and that's why I posted on this topic what I did. I don't think any thing is secret when your on the internet. I'm probably paranoid, but have good reason to be that way. My advice is don't post any thing on a forum that you don't want to show up in Goggle. Your PM's are private, but don't say any thing you don't want others to know. There are some things that you don't want to talk about on the internet, and remember the government is always listening.
