MBAM error updating (I've done some troubleshooting)

Recommended Posts

I can't update MBAM. I get error code 732(0,0)

This happened after I'd had some nasty trojan and couldn't

get MBAM or Sophos to delete, so had done a restore to a few days ago.

I've gone through some other troubleshooting messages.

Step 1: 4585 in left upper code.

Step 3 with TCPView:

mbam.exe 5524 TCP bobadmin-pc 50220 cdn-208-111-168-7.ord.llnw.net:http http CLOSE_WAIT 1 415 1 514

Just for good measure, on reviewing, I'll try resetting my modem and internet before posting.

I tried resetting all of those, still same error message and TCP shows:

mbam.exe 5524 TCP bobadmin-pc 50462 cdn-208-111-168-6.ord.llnw.net http CLOSE_WAIT 1 382 1 514

By the way, I just got a new router to install, but was trying to update things before switching around. If helpful I could try switching the router first.

Hi -

The (Malwarebytes) error 732 = you need to update your version - The (Microsoft) error (0,0) = you have no other problems -

After completing the steps below , you should have Version 1.46 Update (current) 4585 -

Set up your new router first , this will not make any change to the error messages - You most likely just have an early version installed -

Please select your Operating system and follow the directions -

To Fully Remove and Reinstall a Fresh New Copy of Malwarebytes - Read Carefully

Windows XP:

  • Click on Start and select Control Panel
  • Open Add/Remove Programs
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important !
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from Here

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so, very important

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Windows Vista and Windows 7:

  • Click on the Start button and select Control Panel
  • Click on Programs and Features
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important !
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from Here

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so, very important

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Paid version only

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now reset any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.

You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it.

Please post back with your results -

Thank You - :)
