registry error

When turning my computer on i received the following message :

Stop: c0000218 {registry file failure}

the rgistry cannot load the hive (file):

\systemroot\system32\config\software

or its log or alternate

it is corupt,absent,or not writable

begining dump of physical memory

I have windows xp x64

i tried to repair this with the windows cd but i don't think it worked quite right

it seems to have just reinstalled windows over the old copy.

some scans i have done show programs i had previously which are no longer

available to me. If anyone could give me an idea what to do now, i'd really appreciate it.

I believe you have a corrupted registry or Registry File Failure
