Malwarebytes is not able to remove this malware?

Recommended Posts

I was very successful using 2 tools which are very quick and easy to use.

I had a recurring browser redirect after Malwarebytes and Superantispyware scans, even in safemode bootup.

Rkill is one and Tdsskill is the other.

Quick to read research is available.

There are some decent youtube vids on this.

THESE TOOLS ARE SIMPLE!

These with Malwarebytes did the trick.

I just had to share my happy success, so I came on this forum.

YOU SHOULD LOOK FOR THESE PROGRAMS!

It made it a do it yourself. No logs posting. Quick.

Run antimalware, run rkill, run tdsskill

next Malware scan was clean.

Very easy. Cant say enough.

Hello cookie-o: :)

Could you please start a new thread so that there should not be any mix up, and copy/paste Quick Scan log with current definition (4613). Please also list Windows version, and Installed Security Product(s)

Hello Haider -

The new thread is titled Unremoved Malware. The info you requested is in the full scan log. I much appreciate your assistance.

Hello cookie-o,

See my reply to you in your topic http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...st&p=314210

That system had several different malwares & has been so compromised that the HDD should be wiped and Windows installed fresh, as I mentioned in my other reply.

If you aren't having luck with Malwarebytes I'd suggest using a different anti-virus/malware removal tool such as Avira or Combo Fix. But if you do decide to use ComboFix please bear in mind that there is possible collateral damage which can occur when Combofix removes files which it sees as malicious when they may or may not be. It's rare but it does happen so be careful!

Let us know how things work out and please come back with a log so we can see what's going on.

To all users - Please note -

Avira is an Antivirus program and not an Antimalware program - You always need an A/V installed with Malwarebytes -

Combofix is a diognostic/repair program only to be used under expert supervision - Never use this program if you have any doubts at all -

The New Member jmckeeco84 may not know these items -

Thank You -

@noknojohn I've always been taught that while Combofix is a potentially drastic tool to use due to the possible loss of uninfected files but I've never had any trouble with it. I have just run it when absolutely necessary (especially in the event of rootkit activity) and never had a problem. It has saved me many times, especially when Windows Police Pro managed its way onto my system.

@jmckeeco84

Count yourself as lucky then for using C-F on your own.

Be aware that Combofix is never intended as a front line tool, and certainly not meant by the author for use without trained helper guidance.

Please also know that not one single tool will remove all malwares. It typically takes several.

And let's don't give free wheeeling advice here. This sub-forum is for issues related to MalwareBytes' MBAM.

Given the original topic starter has not returned, I'm closing this thread.
