Blocked IP's

Recommended Posts

I recently installed Malwarebytes the full version. I have been using the free version in conjuntion with McAfee.

I scan my system with both programs at lease once a day and have never had any problems found.

After I upgraded Malwarebytes to the full version the IP blocker started popping up telling me IP's are being blocked.

I scanned my system and it showed no issues. I then reformated my sytem to Factory Image just to be safe.

The first thing I did was install both Malwarbytes and McAfee.

Before I had ever opened any web browser the IP blocker started telling me IP's were being blocked.

Does the IP blocker block inbound IP's?

Is that what I am seeing?

I am at a loss as to what the problem is

I looked at the blocked IP logs and they are out of china.

I find this really upsetting.

Hello greenred:

Do you have any P2P program like Limewire, Torrent, etc installed? Please once again update MBAM (current version 4559) and run a quick scan

Should you have any other question(s) please post back, don't forget to include version of Windows, McAfee, and also if you have any other security software installed

No, no P2P programs installed. Like I said I reformated my hard drive back to factory settings. I am running Windows 7, and Version 13.15 of McAfee Virus Scan. No other security installed.

It sounds like there are several items installed that Malwarebytes is not "happy" with -

Please add these exclusions to your McAfee and any Firewall/Web filter included -

For Windows Vista or Windows 7:

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE from it as well

Note: Once that's done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site:

data-cdn.mbamupdates.com

Then disable your McAfee for 5 mins (No need to browse the web at that time) and see if you still have this problem -

Thank You -

Well, I have near the same problem. My registered version - updated - of Malwarebytes keeps blocking IP adresses, and I do not know where is the problem.

I have a p2p software installed, but not running. Malwarebytes, with full scan, says the pc is clean, so says BitDefender 2011. But I still get a lot of warnings.

203.93.209.114 actually

I would welcome any help, thank you.

Richard
