mbam_error_load_database (0,5) Malwarebytes error

Recommended Posts

I purchased Malwarebytes on 8/26/10 for a Thinkpad that I had just updated from XP to Windows 7. The Malwarebytes box contained ver. 1.45 and the next day it updated to ver. 1.46 so I proceeded to register it with no trouble. Since 8/29 it won't let me update the definitions and gives an error: mbam_error_ load_database (0,5). I have added the 5 exclusions to Norton 2010 that were posted for Norton 360, I have deleted rules.ref, I have uninstalled, run mbam-clean.exe and reinstalled. The only other software that I've installed (besides browsers and Google Earth) is Zone Alarm firewall and I have set access and server permissions for Malwarebytes and also tried it with ZA turned off.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated. I'm hoping to get this working so I can add my old files, email program, apps, etc. but have tried to keep things simple until this is resolved.

Thanks.

Welcome kona2010 -

Thank You -

I had a similar problem. MBAM are in denial about this. MBAM support won't get you anywhere.

I have stopped using MBAM pro. Now switched to Prevx instead.

This may well be a conflict between win 7 & 1.46 as on XP I had no problems at all.
