Malwarebytes log after running a full scan

Recommended Posts

I am running malwarebytes using the following switches:

...

"%ProgramFiles%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe" /runupdate

"%ProgramFiles%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe" /fullscanterminate

...

The script works fine; that's not what I need help with, because I can see the process running in Process Explorer and Task Manager. My question is:

If I run this script as the logged in user, the log appears in %AppData%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs exactly as it should; however, if I run the script as Local System, I cannot seem to find the output log anywhere...

Where did/should the log go while running as the Local System? I need this to work while running as the local system account.

I would believe the logs are saved the the following location (I don't usually have to answer this question, so I could be wrong):

%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs

Also note that you may want to use /logtofolder to set your own custom folder for it to save logs to.

Note that this is a one-time-use command-line parameter that sets a permanent log path. If you ever need to clear the log path, and reset it back to the default, then you can use the /logtofolder parameter again with no path specified, and it will revert to the default.

So, something like this to set the folder to save log files to:

"%PROGRAMFILES%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe" /logtofolder C:\MBAM_Logs

And then this will reset it to defaults:

"%PROGRAMFILES%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe" /logtofolder
