disk suddenly full, Mal not able to run More

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if I have a virus. Suddenly my disk got full (just installed new disk a few ways ago which was 60 gig larger and hadn't finished loading. The hard drive says it is full. My Malwarebytes won't run for some reason nor can I start or download any other virus scanner. I've been trying to download Hijack and can't because I can't see where to down load it because the screemn is messed up and I can't see the download button. I am getting messages that some of the things I'm trying to run aren't valud 32 bit software.

I've trid to see if there is some type of online scanner I can start with that doesn't have to download so I found Housecall but I get a message it is unavailable.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Howdy,

Just some starter suggestions. Keep in mind we cannot give specific advice on removal of malwares here in the General MBAM forum.

Try hard to get to and run Disk Cleanup from your Windows Start menu. {btw, you need to state your specific version/edition of Windows and the name/brand of your Antivirus and if it is up-to-date.}.

Use Internet Explorer menu Tools > Internet Options and Delete temporary files.

Use My Computer {Windows Explorer} and view the My Computer section. How much FREE space does it show ?

Do you have handy (at hand) the Windows operating system CD/DVD ?

The "I am getting messages that some of the things I'm trying to run aren't valud 32 bit software" is a bad omen. A likely sign of malware.

If you have access to another (clean) system and fresh CD/DVD or an unused USB-flash-thumb drive....

use another system to download tools like DDS & Gmer, save & burn to CD DVD, or the unused new USB drive.

BY THE WAY, when downloading and Before "saving" each tool, Rename the extension as COM

as opposed to EXE

From what you noted, I'm afraid the malware is going to prevent you from starting any EXE program.

Then transport to the infected system.

Try to run from CD/DVD/USB the reports mentioned in this next article.
