You can use scheduler to take care of Updates and Scans if using Paid/Full version. This feature is not available in Free version. Should you have any other question(s) please post back

People want to use LUAs, then complain about restrictions, you can't have your cake and eat to.

I also run under LUA and no problems with updates, either manually or with the scheduled task.

How about putting the updating routine in the Malwarebytes system service?
