twice now you have saved me

Recommended Posts

Ok, you guys have saved my ass twice now. I am a college student and both times that I have been away from home and just trying to do my online classes, I have gotten viruses. They have both been the fake antivirus kind where it tries to sell me its crumby software suite to remove the virus that it put on.

So just a huge THANK YOU!!!! For reasons relating to the US Army/VA messing up my college payments each and EVERY semester I am too poor to buy a solution. But once I get some dough, I will certainly invest in the realtime protection AV you guys offer.

Also, I am very worried about keyloggers being installed now. If I come up clean from system scans, do you think I'm good to go? My initial thought is to reformatt my HDD, but I've got a dell and no vista install disc. Someone hacked my bank account while I was deployed to Iraq and caused havok a couple years ago, I'm thinking somehow I got identy theft from my base.

The viruses I got are rogue antivirus doctor, and rogue antivirus suite. I'm trying to remember the website it kept redirecting me to.

Honestly, I want to track down these guys down. In the army I was the designated marksman in a surveillance and target acquisition team that deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. If someone can furnish me the address I can do a REALLY effective antivirus sweep.

Again, thank you for your completely effective software. Back in july, I was totally lost. No other antimalware program worked but yours. This time I fired up MBAM right off the bat and you got me back.

Hello ThankYou:

While MBAM can tackle majority of malware in the wild without any intervention, at times it would need additional tools and an expert to get rid

If you suspect infection, then please read and follow the instructions in I'm infected - What do I do now? An Expert will assist you in removal process. Should you have any other question(s) please post back?

Hello Thankyou,

I want to point out (in case you weren't fully aware) that MBAM is an anti-malware program. It is not an "antivirus" program.

MBAM is a top shelf antimalware app.

You have an antivirus program installed on this system?

If you do not, then you must get one right away.

The following are not a susbstitute for AV, but are useful for occasional use:

On some regular schedule, it is a good idea to do an online scan for viruses and malware. Here is a very short list of sites where this may be done:

Kaspersky Webscan Online Virus Scanner

ESET Online Scanner

Panda ActiveScan

Trend Micro Housecall

F-Secure Online Scanner
