MBAM_ERROR_CHECK_INFECTED (0,9)

Recommended Posts

:) Hi,

I hope that someone will help me..

I was scanning my pc (I have windows xp) with Malawarebytes when a Malawarebytes's alert appeared on the screen.

It says: "MBAM_ERROR_CHECK_INFECTED (0,9). an error occurred, please contact our support team."

Now I can't close the message or shut down and then start again Malawarebytes, as it is already in use, as signaled.

I must admit, when I saw the word "infected" I was terrified. ;)

(I was scanning my pc because I have problems with Shockwave flash although it's the latest version and I suspected that some vicious stuff has crept into my pc...)

I don't really understand what happened: the alert refers to a malfunction of Malawarebytes- an error-

or it's telling me the horrible truth: that there's a VIRUS .. ??

How can I close Malawarebytes now?

What would you suggest me to do if there is a virus?

Thanking you all in advance,

kind regards.

  • 2 weeks later...

hallo and thank you for your kind welcoming message.

I should have written "problem ignored" rather than "problem solved".. I managed to shut down Malawarebytes' Anti-malaware

using the windows' Task Manager - then I ran the Malaware scan again and no message appeared. No infection was found.

I scanned the system with the Avg antivirus and it didn't detect any virus.

I've searched through the list of common error codes but I didn't find a " MBAM_ERROR_CHECK_INFECTED (0,9)" alert message.

regards

F.

Hi -

If you think that the program may have been corrupted in any way , please reinstall it with this method -

This should only take about 7-8 mins to perform -

To Fully Remove and Reinstall a Fresh New Copy of Malwarebytes - Read Carefully

Windows XP:

  • Click on Start and select Control Panel
  • Open Add/Remove Programs
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important !
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from Here

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so, very important

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Paid version only

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now reset any file exclusions as may be required in your

Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.

You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it.

Thank You - :)

If the above instructions don't work then follow these instructions.....

MBAM_ERROR_EXPANDING_VARIABLES (0,9)

MBAM_ERROR_MISSING_FILE (3,0, mbamswissarmy.sys)

The system cannot find the path specified.

Here's a fix that exile360 made, it is universal for XP, Vista and Windows 7 and should fix the problem:

Note: If using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you MUST right-click on the file and select "Run as administrator".

  • Please copy and paste the following text in the Code box exactly as written into notepad (not wordpad or any other text editor):
    @color 48
    @echo off
    if exist "%allusersprofile%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu" md "%allusersprofile%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup"
if not exist "%allusersprofile%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu" md "%allusersprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup"
    if exist "%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu" md "%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup"
if not exist "%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu" md "%userprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup"
    del /f /q %0

  • Once you've done that click on File and select Save As...
  • In the Save dialogue box click on the drop down menu next to Save as type and select All Files
  • Name the file Fix.bat (the .bat extension is very important)
  • Save the file to your desktop and double click it to run it if using Windows XP. If using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you MUST right-click on the file and select Run as administrator otherwise it will not work.
  • Once that's complete try running Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware again to see if it now works without error or not.
