malware called findgala.com has hijacked my search functions I am unable to remove and delete this malicious program that McAfee calls fake virus that their anti virus cannot find and remove. I tried malwarebytes and it too fails to find this malware. Any help that produces results would be greatly appreciated. I am palnning to reformat my hard drive and then reinstall the operating system and software.

Has anyone reformatted and gotten rid of this malware?

Hi MickeyO and Welcome to Malwarebytes Forum!

Please perform the following scan:

• Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • DDS.scr
    
  • DDS.pif
    

  [*]Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.

  [*]A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool.

  [*]When done, DDS will open two (2) logs

  1. DDS.txt

  2. Attach.txt

  [*] Save both reports to your desktop.

  [*] The instructions here ask you to attach the Attach.txt.

  

  [*]Instead of attaching, please copy/past both logs into your Thread

  [*]Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.

Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run.

After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection.

Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

hey everybody! ive been brought here by need, not interest...so, in a truly rude fashion, I am risking threadjacking on my first post, only because my problem parallels this one. I have followed the instructions, I have the attach and dds files ready to go, but should I start my own thread to post them? And what do I do next?

Yes, it is foolish of you to "hijack" this topic for your benefit.

Start your own new topic and put your logs there, and then have patience until an authorized helper responds.
