Security Suite - Cannot access anything except internet

Hello,

My Laptop is infected with what seems to be Security Suite. I am getting numerous pop us "virus alerts" and I cannot access, MBAM or any other program. I am also unable to start up in Safe Mode nor can I access Task Manager. I also cannot open ANY of my documents (Word, Excel, etc.). The only thing it seems I can do is access the internet.

I've tried running MBAM, CCleaner, and have also tried downloading and running OTH and OTL to get a log but nothing will run. I've also tried renaming the MBAM exe file, etc but the virus seems to still recognize it as an exe file.

I've just gone thru all of the steps in the "I'm infected - What do I do now?" instructions and I was not able to access any of the programs. Here's what I did:

Step 1: Reinstalled MBAM, I was able to install but could not run

Step 2: DeFogger - Disable: Installed but could not run. It flashed a black screen for a second that was titled Administrator D.D.S, it flashed too quick, I could not read any more.

Step 3: GMER Rootkit Scanner: Again, installed could not run.

How else can I provide a log? :P

Any help would be great!

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post the one that is not minimized.

I was able to download DDS to my desktop but still not able to run it. It looked like it tried for a second, I got a flash of a black screen" that was it.

Odd.

Try this instead please:

Download RSIT by random/random and save it to your Desktop.

  • Double click RSIT.exe to start the tool and click Continue at the disclaimer.
  • When the scan completes it will open a log named log.txt maximized, and a log named info.txt minimized.
  • Please post the contents of both logs here in your next reply.

Please reboot to Safe Mode (tap the F8 key just before Windows starts to load and select the Safe Mode option from the menu).

Pick your usual account and see if DDS or RSIT will run from there.

I am not able to start in Safe Mode. It will try and get to: "Loaded: \windows\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys"

Then it stops and just says, please wait. . . .

Hi,

Please run this Avira Rescue CD (create it from another computer if need be).

Avira AntiVir Rescue System - Tutorial for Avira Rescue CD.

If you encounter problems running the Rescue Disk, you can get further assistance at the Avira Support Forum.

When it completes, boot back into Normal Mode and see if DDS or RSIT will run.
