mbam keeps blocking 193.107.16.82

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I would ask that you provide some added information. And suggest you review (if you have not already) section G of the notes regarding MBAM & IP blocking at this link

http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?a...&pid=162100

Does your system have a router between your pc and the internet connection?

Are you using the Windows firewall or a 3rd-party firewall? If the latter, which one?

More to the point:

Does the system have any sort of "torrent" download app or any so-called "peer-to-peer filesharing" ?

Does it have running any sort of instant messenger program?

Have you downloaded any sort of multi-media file (video or music or whatever) from an untrusted or unknown source?

No IM programs

Have you downloaded any sort of multi-media file (video or music or whatever) from an untrusted or unknown source?

No music, video or pictures downloaded.

And to make sure nothing is running I reboot and look in task manager.

Thanks.

Hi -

A quick retrace of the IP shows it is located in the Seychelles Islands - Usually a fake site but not harmful -

You have most likely clicked on an item and now have a Tracking cookie or similar item in your history -

Try Free SUPERAntiSpyware to remove the tracker and go to Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk CleanUp -

What does this notification mean?

This notification means quite simply, that an IP address has been blocked. It does NOT necessarily mean you are infected, it simply means a program on your computer (e.g. your browser, IM program, P2P program etc), tried accessing a malicious IP address. If this notice was presented when you were not actually doing anything on the machine, then I suggest having your computer looked at.

Please print out, read and follow What do I do now? , skipping any steps you are unable to complete.

This sends you to our experts area -

Thank You -

@rocoyanna

Using the link noted by noknojon, DO do the preliminaries and open a New topic in the Malware Removal HijackThis sub-forum.

At minimum, get MBAM updated and then do a quick scan and have it quarantine anything it tags (if any).

We want to know if the same IP block continues to show up.
