The scheduler barely works

Recommended Posts

The scheduler only works if I set it to scan while the computer is currently being used which is a bit useless as I could just click scan now.

When I set a flash scan (or any scan) from reboot it only does it when I click on the icon straight away after starting, it doesn't work from auto start. I suspect Windows 7 UAC is stopping it from auto starting as I have to allow MBAM to start every time I want to use it which is highly annoying. If I don't click on it, the icon appears in the system tray after a few minutes but the scan doesn't start.

Also the scheduler won't wake up my computer from Sleep or hibernate which is a feature I really want to work.

I'm impressed with the rest of the product so far but I can't get the scheduler to work right. Any suggestions?

Hi -

For a start please use these directions to Un/Re install the program as yours may be faulty or having problems with your Antivirus - -

Windows Vista and Windows 7:

  • Click on the Start button and select Control Panel
  • Click on Programs and Features
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important !
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from Here

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so, very important

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Paid version only

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now reset any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.

You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it.

Please exclude these items from your Antivirus -

For Windows Vista or Windows 7:

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE from it as well

Note: Once that's done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site:

data-cdn.mbamupdates.com

Then refer to http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...st&p=224633 This item to review/reset your scheduler settings -

Thank You - :)
