Error 732 (0,0)

Recommended Posts

Please help me. I just finished installing two new hard drives, Windows 7 Home Edition, Symantec Endpoint Protection and the full version of Malwarebytes. MWB is running but when I go to do an update it gives me Error 732 (0,0). I followed this forums guidance on having a checkmark in the proxy option of the Internet Exporer 8.0 > Internet Options > Connections tab > and LAN button. I restarted IE and then tried to Update MWB. I got the same 732 (0,0) error. The forum's guidance was to post a new request here for help. Thank you.

Welcome Roy N -

Please use the directions below to Un/Re install the program - Your version is only out of date and this will fully update it -

Windows Vista and Windows 7:

  • Click on the Start button and select Control Panel
  • Click on Programs and Features
  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Restart your computer very important !
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from Here

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so, very important

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Please ignore any other downloads on that page and only download the Malwarebytes program -

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Paid version only

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Paid version. Now reset any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.

You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it.

Thank You - :)

Any problems with this please post back -

Turmoille.....

This should help you with net access

Please try this first -

STEP 01

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Note: It MUST be Internet Explorer, not Firefox, Opera, Chrome or any other internet browser
  • Click on Tools at the top and select Internet Options
  • Note: If you do not see Tools, press the Alt key on your keyboard and it will show up
  • Click on the Connections tab
  • Click on the LAN settings button
  • Under Automatic configuration make sure that the box next to Automatically detect settings is checked, if it is not, then click the box next to it to check it
  • Click on the OK button to close the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window
  • Click on the OK button to close the Internet Options window
  • Use this diagram as a guide
  • Try updating Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware again and if it does not work then please proceed to Step 02

STEP 02

Disable Internet Explorer Proxy Settings and Reset TCP/IP

It is very important that these steps be carried out exactly as shown otherwise the fix will not work.

If you have any questions please ask before moving on.

  • Please start Notepad and using your mouse make sure you select and copy all the information below in the Code box into your new document.
  • Then save the file as "fixme.bat" to your Desktop - The .bat extension is important
  • In the drop down box for Save as type: make sure you select All Files (*.*) and keep the quotes on the name as well. Then close the new file.
    @ECHO OFF
    reg delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyServer /f
    reg delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyOverride /f
    reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyEnable /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
    reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v GlobalUserOffline /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

  • On Windows XP you can double-click the file to run it.
  • On Vista/Win7 you need to Right click the file and choose Run as administrator to run it. With User Account Control on it should ask permission to run it. Click Yes
  • This will flash a black DOS box very quickly and go away, this is normal.
  • Restart your computer now.
  • Launch Internet Explorer and see if you can connect to the Internet.
  • Launch MBAM and check for Updates

Ok household expert has the PC back but it still is not right..... I had to run the bat files and then could get to internet but could only update software malware and run a scan. I found one virus. When I reboot and open windows I get a redirector and internet goes nowhere. Close internet and second time I go to my home page. Tried to use the clean and reinstall program to correct this and I get shgetvalue failed with error code 0. When i rerun scans it says I am clean.

Also can you tell me what the paid version gives me the free version does not.

I think my wife gets the virus becasue she is blog nut......

If you are still getting redirects, they you may still be infected and have something like a root kit running..... You will have to get an expert to look at it for you.....

As for the PRO version, you get a scheduler that you can schedule auto updates and scans as well as an IP Blocker that runs real time so it will help prevent getting infected.....

To clean your pc completely please follow these instructions:

Hello USER, :):)

Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process:

We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums.

Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here.

Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help.

If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you.

Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org

PS: Please use the "ADDREPLY" t_reply.gif button instead of other ones when you start replying. :)
