Another "Security Suite" victim.

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I'm new to the forums: I had hoped I would never need to post here (that's not an insult, just a hope on my part that I'd never be infected with anything this bad again...), but I've recently become stuck when attempting to deal with "Windows Security Suite".

The details are as thus:

I attempted load a webpage recently that asked be to install the latest plugin (I cannot for the life of me remember if it was Flash or Java I'm afraid). It crashed Firefox, and when I attempted to reload Firefox I got this nastly little bugger.

As with everyone else experiencing this bug, it has completely disabled me! I cannot run task manager - and here is the clincher. Despite having Malware Bytes on my computer it refuses to allow me to run the program.

I do have the install feature on my desktop, and I've attempted to use that - but so far it blocks all of my attemps. I cannot re-download Malware Bytes because it has somehow redirected all of my Google attempts (on both Firefox and Internet Explorer).

Would anyone mind giving me some suggestions as to what to do? I've had a look through the other posts of people on here with the same problem, but I'm not sure if I want to follow the advice because my situation is different - everyone else appears to have their Malware Bytes left unaffected by the little bar-steward.

Any help? Please?

Thank you for your time.

  • If no reboot is require, click on Report. A log file should appear. Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.
  • If a reboot is required, the report can also be found in your root directory, (usually C:\ folder) in the form of "TDSSKiller.[Version]_[Date]_[Time]_log.txt". Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. Here is a guide on how to disable them:
    Click me
If you can't disable them then just continue on.
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt log in your next reply.
