Laptop running slow after boot

I formatted the laptop about 1-2 months ago. It was running fine, but in recent weeks ive noticed it running slower. But I have noticed, after the laptop has booted, it runs very slow for about 15-20 minutes. After this it operates fine. What I think may be the issue is a porgram(s) trying to access the net for either an update or there is either a virus. When looking at Task Manager i noticed wuaclt.exe using a lot of ram. But once the laptop starts running fine the process isnt running. This may not be the problem, but it is something I have noticed.
