Super Slow - Was Infected - Still Am?

Hello, I need some assistance with my computer issue.

A few weeks back, I was hit by the AV bug. I had someone to help me in person as I am not very good at this kind of thing. They said they got it clean, but now it is running super slow, but only when I am plugged in to the router. If I unplug my machine runs as fast as can be.

They tried to do some remote assistance, but to no avail.

I downloaded Hijack This in an attempt to figure out what is going on. I run XP (Service Pack 3). I have Malwarebytes and AVG Internet Security 9.

I am desperate for a cure. Please respond as soon as possible.
