bohent Posted August 22, 2010 ID:303815 Share Posted August 22, 2010 antimalware doctor thing virus? i downloaded malwarebytes and that seems to have worked. had to do like 20 scans to get it all but i no longer have pop ups, im doing another full scan today and so far it hasnt found anything so hopefully its gone. so my bf used that malwarebytes too and it found 15 infections so he deleted them all. when he restarted his computer it said that he did not have all files he needed and to insert the windows vista disk. he burnt off a copy of it offline but it didnt work. Vista comes up with, windows/system32/drivers/streamex.sys status: 0xc0000098info :windows failed to load because of critical system driver is missing or corupttried everything,restore,last con fig,repair, NOTHING works.Called my pc repair guy and he said I'd have to wipe my drive and reinstall Vista!VERY disappointed in Malwarebytes. mountaintree16 Posted August 29, 2010 ID:306612 Share Posted August 29, 2010 Please follow AdvancedSetup's directions above Unfortunately some malware these days is very stubborn and gets itself deep in your system, which requires using more removal tools. Malwarebytes is very good at getting most malware, but sometimes you have to go further. This is not Malwarebyte's fault at all; it's how the malware is being designed unfortunately. If so, turn it on, and as soon as you see anything on the screen, press F8 over and over until you get a menu of options. Then choose last known good configuration. See if that works.
