MBAM_ERROR_LOAD DATABASE

I was wondering where I should post a request for help with my problem and if I need to run DDS and GMER and post their logs. My problem is as follows:

I have MBAM Pro installed and it runs correctly updating and running a nightly quick scan according to my settings. Every few mornings instead of finding a successful

scan log on the computer screen I find the error message "MBAM_ERROR_LOAD_DATABASE (0,5). The MBAM protection module icon is still on my taskbar and I can right click on

it and check for updates but if I try and start MBAM from the taskbar icon or from my start menu I get the same error. A restart of the computer results in the message

"MBAM Service terminated unexpectantly" and MBAM does not and will not run. If I uninstall MBAM (via Control Panel-Programs and Features) and then re-install MBAM, it works fine

and will complete scans etc. for a few more days until the error reappears. I am running Windows 7 x64 with MBAM Pro and Avast Internet Security. Can anyone suggest where

and how I should go about trying to find a solution to this issue?

Please follow the instructions below to correct this error.....

Show Hidden Files and Folders in Windows XP:

• Click Start and select My Computer
  
• Click the Tools item from the menu at the top of the window (if you don't see Tools press the Alt key on your keyboard and it will appear)
  
• Select Folder Options
  
• Click the View tab and make sure Show hidden files and folders is selected under Hidden files and folders
  
• Next, uncheck the box next to Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
  
• Then, uncheck the box next to Hide extensions for known filetypes
  
• Click Apply then click OK
  

Then go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and delete rules.ref. Once you've done that, start MBAM and when it shows the error and asks to update, let it do so and see if that corrects it.
