My apologies if this has already been asked, else please consider

This may be challenging and I am not sure if this could be applied at all. Instead of default path for Definitions, provision of user defined custom path

I am sure all of those having multi-boot system plus couple of VMs running together would find it easy, they don't have to logon individual partition or VM to keep it updated, do it from one partition or VM and be assured system is completely updated. This will also help in case a partition/VM gets infected and updates are blocked

Hi.

From a support point of view, this is a BAD idea.

Most people have enough trouble finding a default placement of files, to allow everyone to create their own paths, would leave us instructing users to find things which we have no clue of where to look and honestly, 99% of the people won't even remember where they set it to.

Last thing we need is to complicate things, this would do just that. Especially since some users just do not have basic computing skills.
