Win7 x64 + FIrefox 3.6.8 + Malwarebyte 1.46 = bluescreen ?

Recommended Posts

Hello and :)

I have not heard of any problems with Malwarebytes causing any blue screens.....

What other security software do you have installed on this computer? Anti-Virus software? Firewall?

Sorry for not having thought to mention in my first message: :)

- Avast (free) 5.0.594

- Comodo Firewall 4.1.150349.920

Had no issues with Win7/64, FF 3.6.8 and MBAM Pro 1.46 running McAfee 2009 (bundled on my Dell PC).

MBAM protection module played just fine with McAfee, and I never had (nor would I have expected) any problems with MBAM and FF.

Just doesn't sound to me (NO expert, just a home user) like it might caused by something other than this particular software combo.

I also have no problems with Win7/32, FF 3.6.8, MBAM Pro 1.46 and the most recent version of Weboot ISE (7.*) on my laptop.

(A recent McAfee version update resulted in my having to factory image my PC (don't ask), and I have switched from McAfee to KIS2011.

But I have yet to reinstall MBAM -- will probably run MBAM Free for a while (as suggested by the Kaspersky folks), at least until I am comfortable enough with configuring it to test whether MBAM Pro is compatible or necessary...)

FWIW, BSOD sounds more like a hardware issue, perhaps???

Or, could you be infected?

Hi SwissSteph,

Awhile back ago there was some issues with Avast and malwarebytes'. I use Comodo and malwarebytes', but have had no issues with them. Now the new version of avast has had a history of issues with other software. Personally, I wouldn't recommend the combination of them. Try removing avast and see if it helps.
