Error Updating 12150

Recommended Posts

I apologize if this is a duplicate topic, but I have not been able to find a solution to my problem. I am getting the following error message when updating MBAM: MBAM_ERROR_UPDATING (12150,0,WinHttpQueryHeaders).

I have tried the solution posted below involving uninstalling MBAM, rebooting, running MBAM-clean install, rebooting, and reinstalling MBAM, to no avail.

I am running WinXP, with Norton 360 (I followed instructions regarding temporarily disabling N360).

Can anyone help me please?

Mike

Welcome to Malwarebytes forum -

If you have the previous version of Norton 360 with Add On Pac , please see the item listed below (sent from Norton) -

Please see This Picture for an example of how to disable the Add on Pack -

The very latest upgrade of Norton seems to have fixed this problem - Also read This Item if you have an early version and add these exclusions to match your Operating System -

Section J is for older Norton versions -

Exclude Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware's Files and Folders From Other Active Security Programs:

For Windows XP:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE from it as well

Thank You -
