Same here.

I simply allowed MBAM to deal with it. After all, it was empty folder, and I've had similar detections pointing to few oddly named also empty hidden read-only folders named like files in the past ;)

Well I don't think it's a FP as I just looked at about a dozen systems from 2000/XP/Server2003 and none of them have this folder.

Just scanned a laptop and it does have this folder and is being flagged by MB.

Will await further input from others, but so far it doesn't look like it belongs, but not sure what put it there either. Need to do some research on that.

If you find out, care to post here or PM me? As I am also curious as to what might put such folder in my drive ;) I personally consider myself as the cautious type who employs several tools to keep himself safe, plus I don't play with warez. So a mysterious folder in a drive is not what'd expect to find.

the folder was created (dated) 1/1/2007, and had not been flagged in prior MBAM scans.

I also just encountered the same detection on a second machine [used by another person --- so i think it unlikely that we both "stumbled" upon the same "malware" in the last day or so...]

I'm getting the same PIF detection, similar in all respects to ky331, (except my file was created in 2006). I'm ignoring the detection for now.

Confirmed to be a FP. Odd though why none of my systems seem to have this folder.

PIFs Are Not Created in the PIF Folder

Okay, that explains it, thank you. MS-Dos apps I do use every now and then ;) Will restore folder then.
